Fingertips: Jotting from Frandy Scenario

Dear Friends,

Fingertips is the first short horror film produced by Longtimeago Productions, and this is my note.

This short film was both fun and challenging, especially in finding a way to build a world that feels deforming and allows my characters to earn their stripes. I think tonal shifts were one of the main ingredients I tried to apply in this film. Beauty is ugly. Happiness is scary. Or even a peanut butter and banana sandwich—ha-ha—but you get the idea.

I wrote the script in early 2023. During that time, I took a break from work and just wanted to be left alone, as my old working environment felt staged and love felt predictable. During those days, I would look back at my old projects, and one in particular—a non-profit piece I worked on about 11 years ago—sparked something in me. In that moment, everything came full circle.

As a filmmaker, I believe the horror genre is still largely unexplored. I hope this genre continues to grow and evolve over time. Hopefully, Fingertips opens a new world for you as a viewer.
